Being 21, and finally being an adult, is one of the best feelings in the world.
It’s very freeing to be waiting most of your life for the day to come and then once it comes your ability to experience a more “adult” version of the life. I think for many people it’s not about being able to buy alcohol, which gets old anyways, it’s about being able to go to places that you weren’t allowed to before. Being able to go out with friends, meet new people, hang out at new places makes turning 21 fun.
I’ve been 21 for about 9 months now and have had the opportunity to go to many different places downtown and right outside of Boston to find some of the best nightlife. I understand that many of these places are closed down currently because of COVID-19 but the minute they open I highly recommend to check them out.
The Grand
The Grand is located at 58 Seaport Blvd, Boston Ma. With great bottle service and lots of events featuring artists like DJ Pauly D, Roddy Rich, Tyga, Cash Cash, Dillon Francis, Two Friends and more! One of the best nightclubs in the Boston area to celebrate any events going on in your life!
Royale
Royale is located at 279 Tremont St, Boston Ma. This multi floor nightclub featuring a large circular bar is a great place to party. They also have many events from concerts to drag shows, and many other types of performances! The upstairs has balconies with private bartenders. I even celebrated my 21st birthday at Royale!
Ned Devines
Ned Devines is located upstairs in Faneuil Hall Market Place. This place is not as much a nightclub as it is a bar but it does feature two large and one smaller bar upstairs. They also have tons of room to dance and usually have live bands performing as well! Great place to go out for drinks on a Friday or Saturday night!
Trillium Brewing Company
Trillium is located at 50 Thomson Place, Boston MA. Trillium is not like the other places I have listed so far BUT it is a great place to eat from their large menu and drink some of the amazing draft beers. During the warmer times people can go visit their courtyard patio or rooftop terrane for some amazing drinks and great places to take some pictures!
The Roof
The Roof is closed for the season BUT it is located at 209 Essex St Salem, Ma. This beautiful rooftop bar has amazing space to sit and relax with friends. The food is simple but decent and the drinks tend to be strong!
Rockafellas
Rockafellas is located 231 Essex st Salem, Ma. In historic downtown Salem, this gem has so much to do. From good food and drinks they also have an array of events for everyone! Check out their events tab on the website to find out which event you would like to join! Wednesday night is Salsa (which happens to be my favorite night).
A4cade
A4cade is located 292 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge Ma. This bar is slightly different than most bars on this list. Think Dave and Busters but more low-key. This have tons of cool drinks that come in very funny mugs. They are also famous for their long list of grilled cheeses that they offer. Even if you don’t want to drink, but you still have to be 21, you can play the many arcade games they have to play! Super fun place to go with friends for some friendly competition!
